The Grand Theater hosted the launch event for the new series Quack Family Dailies, starring content creator Islam Fawzy, his wife and fellow creator Yasmin Ebeid, and actress Arfa Abdel Rasoul.
During the event, Islam screened several clips from the series and humorously commented on them in his signature social media style. He explained that he enjoys taking risks, which is why he decided to embark on the “Quack Family” project. To prepare for the show, both he and his wife Yasmin attended a 70-day acting workshop.
Director Waleed Mahmoud revealed that the show’s set designs were not real structures but rather 2D wall illustrations, giving the series a unique and innovative visual identity. He added, “At first, we didn’t have enough funding to build an actual set, so we decided to paint it on the walls.”
Writer and producer Elzahraa Essam said that she drew inspiration for the stories and events from the everyday contradictions and humor of Egyptian family life.
Quack Family Dailies will be released in two parts, each consisting of 10 episodes, and will stream on Shahid starting October 11. The series is produced by Captain Boy Productions, directed by Waleed Mahmoud, and written by Elzahraa Essam.
Alongside Islam Fawzy, the cast includes Yasmin Ebeid, Arfa Abdel Rasoul, Eva, Mostafa Turk (a fellow content creator), as well as several children, influencers, and upcoming talents.
The first part of the series follows the daily life and adventures of the Quack family during an unlucky trip. The second part focuses on romance and business, as the family faces financial challenges and decides to leave their traditional jobs to start a creative startup project—which comes with its own set of problems. Throughout it all, the Quack family tackles their struggles with simplicity, strong family bonds and humour.
Captain Boy and Shahid met at the co-production salon for the first time back in 2021. Shahid loved the series because it was the first Arabic drama bite in MENA. The distinctive identity of the Quack Family, the young talents that speak to GenZ and the collaboration between professional actors and content creators are the main reasons that make The Quack Family stand out as a Disney format family comedy series.
